Philippians 1 is a chapter that talks about the joy Paul had in his prison, his prayer for the Philippians, and his desire for Christ to be glorified in his life. Following are five verses from other Bible books that relate to the topics addressed in Philippians 1.
2 Corinthians 12:10: "Therefore I enjoy weaknesses, injuries, needs, persecution, anguish, for Christ's sake. Because when I am weak, then I am strong." This verse talks about the pleasure Paul had in difficulties, which is addressed in Philippians 1, where he talks about the joy he had in his prison.
Colossians 1:9-12: "For this reason we, either, from the day we hear it, we do not cease to pray for you, and to ask you to be full of the knowledge of His will, in all spiritual wisdom and understanding; so that you may walk worthy of the Lord, pleasing to him in all, fruitful in every good work, and growing in the knowledge of God; being strengthened with all power, according to the strength of his glory, that you may have all perseverance and patience with enjoyment; giving thanks to the Father, who made you suitable to participate in the inheritance of the saints in the light. " This verse talks about Paul's prayer by the Colossians, which is addressed in Philippians 1, where he talks about his prayer for the Philippians.
1 Corinthians 10:31: "Therefore, whether you eat, or do anything else, do everything to the glory of God." This verse talks about the importance of glorifying God in all things, which is addressed in Philippians 1, where Paul expresses his desire for Christ to be glorified in his life.
2 Corinthians 1:3-4: "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of Mercies and God of all consolation, who comforts us in all our tribulation, so that we may also comfort those who are in any Tribulation, with the consolation with which we ourselves are comforted by God. " This verse talks about the consolation that God offers in the midst of tribulations, which is addressed in Philippians 1, where Paul talks about the joy he had in the midst of his arrest.
1 Corinthians 1:8-9: "Who will also confirm to the end, to be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. Faithful is God, for which you were called to the communion of your Son Jesus Christ our Lord." This verse talks about God's faithfulness to confirm us to the end, which is addressed in Philippians 1, where Paul expresses his confidence that the one who began the good work in the Philippians will complete it.
