Psalms, 13

1. For the leader. A psalm of David.

2. How long, LORD? Will you utterly forget me? How long will you hide your face from me?

3. How long must I carry sorrow in my soul, grief in my heart day after day? How long will my enemy triumph over me?

4. Look upon me, answer me, LORD, my God! Give light to my eyes lest I sleep in death,

5. Lest my enemy say, "I have prevailed," lest my foes rejoice at my downfall.

6. I trust in your faithfulness. Grant my heart joy in your help, That I may sing of the LORD, "How good our God has been to me!"

Psalm 42:11: "Why are you slaughtered, O my soul, and why are you disturbed within me? Wait in God, for I will still praise Him, to Him who is my help and my God." This verse expresses a hope in the Lord, in the midst of sadness and anguish.

Psalm 86:7: "I invoke you on the day of my anguish, because you answer me." The psalmist trusts that God will respond to his supplication in times of anguish.

Psalm 119:50: "This is my comfort in my affliction: May your Word go gone." This verse highlights the power of God's Word as comfort and helps in times of distress.
