Luke chapter 14 begins with Jesus healing a man on a Saturday and arguing with the Pharisees about what was allowed to do on this day. Then he tells a parable about a man who gives a big banquet and invites many people, but many of them make apologies and don't attend. Matthew 22:2-3: "The kingdom of heaven is like a king who prepared a wedding banquet to his son. He sent his servants to those who had been invited to the banquet, but they refused to go."
