Genesis, 34

25. And behold the third day, when the pain of the wound was greatest, two of the sons of Jacob, Simeon and Levi, the brothers of Dina, taking their swords, entered boldly into the city, and slew all the men:

Genesis 34 tells the story of Diná, daughter of Jacob, who is raped by a prince of a neighboring city named Shechem. Diná's brothers, outraged by the incident, plan a revenge against the city of Simém. They deceive the men of Shem and kill them all. If anyone hurts him on his right face, offer him the other. " This verse highlights the importance of not responding to violence with more violence, but of seeking peace and reconciliation. Diná's brothers responded to their sister's rape with violence and murder, creating an even more problematic situation.
