2 Maccabees, 6

28. And I shall leave an example of fortitude to young men, if with a ready mind and constancy I suffer an honourable death, for the most venerable and most holy laws. And having spoken thus, he was forthwith carried to execution.

2 Maccabees 6:31: "After these words, he surrendered to death with all his soul, leaving in his martyrdom a model of courage and awaiting the Lord the reconciliation with his brothers." This verse emphasizes the importance of courage and faith in difficult times and trust in God even in the face of death.
