Luke, 1

5. In the days of Herod, king of Judea, there lived a priest named Zechariah, belonging to the priestly clan of Abiah. Elizabeth, Zechariah's wife, also belonged to a priestly family.

Malachi 4:5: "Behold, I will send you the prophet Elijah, before the great and terrible day of the Lord comes." This verse is quoted by Jesus in talking about John the Baptist in Matthew 17:10-13, showing how the Old Testament prophecies were fulfilled with the birth of John and Jesus.
