2 Samuel, 7

23. Is there on earth another nation like your people Israel, whom God has come to redeem, and to make his people? Indeed you made them famous when you did, for your glory, great and awesome things, rescuing them out of Egypt, from their people and their gods.

Being a prophet, he knew that God had Promised with an oath that one of his descendants would settle on his throne. Predicting this, David spoke of the resurrection of Christ, that he was not abandoned in Hades, nor did his body experience corruption. " Peter quotes David to demonstrate that Jesus' resurrection is evidence of God's faithfulness to the promise of eternal descent to David.
