Psalm 23 is one of the best known and beloved psalms of the Bible. In it, the psalmist David expresses his confidence in God as his pastor, provider and protector. He recognizes that God takes care of him in every area of his life and that nothing will lack him. Below are five verses related to the topics covered in this Psalm:
Psalm 28:9-"Save your people, and bless your inheritance; cease them and exalt them forever." This verse talks about God as pastor of his people, blessing and taking care of them forever.
Isaiah 40:11 - "As a pastor he will feed his flock, between his arms he will collect the dulls and take them into his lap; those that breastfeed he will guide softly." This verse portrays God as a loving shepherd who kindly takes care of his flock.
John 10:11 - "I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives life to the sheep." This verse talks about Jesus as the good shepherd, who gives his life for his sheep.
Hebrews 13:20-21 - "Now the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant has brought from the dead to our Lord Jesus Christ, the great shepherd of the sheep, to perfect you in all good work, to do his will , operating in you what before He is pleasant, by Jesus Christ, to whom glory is forever and ever. Amen! " This verse describes Jesus as the great shepherd of sheep and asks God to perfect his people in every good work.
Revelation 7:17 - "For the lamb that is in the middle of the throne shall be noted and will guide them to the sources of the water of life; and God will cleanse his eyes every tear." This verse portrays Jesus as the Lamb in the midst of the throne, who is spare and guides his people into the sources of the water of life.
