15. Responding, Hannah said: “By no means, my lord. For I am an exceedingly unhappy woman, and I drank neither wine, nor anything that can inebriate. Instead, I have poured out my soul in the sight of the Lord.

1 Samuel 1 tells the story of Ana, a sterile woman who fervently prayed for a son. God answered his supplications and she gave birth to Samuel, who later became a great prophet of Israel. Here are five verses related to topics covered in this chapter:

Psalm 113:9: "He makes the barren dwell at home as the mother of children. Hallelujah!" This verse talks about how God can perform miracles in people's lives, including giving children to those who are sterile, as with Ana.

This verse talks about the importance of prayer and mutual support in the Christian community, something Ana found in the house of God, where she poured her heart before the Lord.
