God said to Noah and to his sons with him: (Genesis 9,8)

God added: "This is the sign that I am giving for all ages to come, of the covenant between me and you and every living creature with you: (Genesis 9,12)

As the bow appears in the clouds, I will see it and recall the everlasting covenant that I have established between God and all living beings--all mortal creatures that are on earth." (Genesis 9,16)

God told Noah: "This is the sign of the covenant I have established between me and all mortal creatures that are on earth." (Genesis 9,17)

He also said: "Blessed be the LORD, the God of Shem! Let Canaan be his slave. (Genesis 9,26)

May God expand Japheth, so that he dwells among the tents of Shem; and let Canaan be his slave." (Genesis 9,27)

Melchizedek, king of Salem, brought out bread and wine, and being a priest of God Most High, he blessed Abram with these words: (Genesis 14,18)

Blessed be Abram by God Most High, the creator of heaven and earth; (Genesis 14,19)

And blessed be God Most High, who delivered your foes into your hand." Then Abram gave him a tenth of everything. (Genesis 14,20)

But Abram replied to the king of Sodom: "I have sworn to the LORD, God Most High, the creator of heaven and earth, (Genesis 14,22)

But Abram said, "O Lord GOD, what good will your gifts be, if I keep on being childless and have as my heir the steward of my house, Eliezer?" (Genesis 15,2)

"O Lord GOD," he asked, "How am I to know that I shall possess it?" (Genesis 15,8)
