`Say to Joseph, Forgive, I pray you, the transgression of your brothers and their sin, because they did evil to you.' And now, we pray you, forgive the transgression of the servants of the God of your father." Joseph wept when they spoke to him. (Genesis 50,17)

The midwives said to Pharaoh, "Because the Hebrew women are not like the Egyptian women; for they are vigorous and are delivered before the midwife comes to them." (Exodus 1,19)

And because the midwives feared God he gave them families. (Exodus 1,21)

And the child grew, and she brought him to Pharaoh's daughter, and he became her son; and she named him Moses, for she said, "Because I drew him out of the water." (Exodus 2,10)

Then the LORD said, "I have seen the affliction of my people who are in Egypt, and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters; I know their sufferings, (Exodus 3,7)

Moses spoke thus to the people of Israel; but they did not listen to Moses, because of their broken spirit and their cruel bondage. (Exodus 6,9)

And the magicians could not stand before Moses because of the boils, for the boils were upon the magicians and upon all the Egyptians. (Exodus 9,11)

And they baked unleavened cakes of the dough which they had brought out of Egypt, for it was not leavened, because they were thrust out of Egypt and could not tarry, neither had they prepared for themselves any provisions. (Exodus 12,39)

And you shall tell your son on that day, `It is because of what the LORD did for me when I came out of Egypt.' (Exodus 13,8)

and they said to Moses, "Is it because there are no graves in Egypt that you have taken us away to die in the wilderness? What have you done to us, in bringing us out of Egypt? (Exodus 14,11)
