On that day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying, "To your descendants I give this land, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the river Euphra'tes, (Genesis 15,18)

And Sar'ai said to Abram, "May the wrong done to me be on you! I gave my maid to your embrace, and when she saw that she had conceived, she looked on me with contempt. May the LORD judge between you and me!" (Genesis 16,5)

But Abram said to Sar'ai, "Behold, your maid is in your power; do to her as you please." Then Sar'ai dealt harshly with her, and she fled from her. (Genesis 16,6)

The angel of the LORD said to her, "Return to your mistress, and submit to her." (Genesis 16,9)

The angel of the LORD also said to her, "I will so greatly multiply your descendants that they cannot be numbered for multitude." (Genesis 16,10)

And the angel of the LORD said to her, "Behold, you are with child, and shall bear a son; you shall call his name Ish'mael; because the LORD has given heed to your affliction. (Genesis 16,11)

No longer shall your name be Abram, but your name shall be Abraham; for I have made you the father of a multitude of nations. (Genesis 17,5)

And I will establish my covenant between me and you and your descendants after you throughout their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and to your descendants after you. (Genesis 17,7)

And I will give to you, and to your descendants after you, the land of your sojournings, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God." (Genesis 17,8)

And God said to Abraham, "As for you, you shall keep my covenant, you and your descendants after you throughout their generations. (Genesis 17,9)

This is my covenant, which you shall keep, between me and you and your descendants after you: Every male among you shall be circumcised. (Genesis 17,10)

You shall be circumcised in the flesh of your foreskins, and it shall be a sign of the covenant between me and you. (Genesis 17,11)
