Abram dwelt in the land of Canaan, while Lot dwelt among the cities of the valley and moved his tent as far as Sodom. (Genesis 13,12)

for all the land which you see I will give to you and to your descendants for ever. (Genesis 13,15)

Arise, walk through the length and the breadth of the land, for I will give it to you." (Genesis 13,17)

So, after Abram had dwelt ten years in the land of Canaan, Sar'ai, Abram's wife, took Hagar the Egyptian, her maid, and gave her to Abram her husband as a wife. (Genesis 16,3)

And I will give to you, and to your descendants after you, the land of your sojournings, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God." (Genesis 17,8)
