These are the generations of the heavens and the earth when they were created. In the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens, (Genesis 2,4)

when no plant of the field was yet in the earth and no herb of the field had yet sprung up -- for the LORD God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was no man to till the ground; (Genesis 2,5)

For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil." (Genesis 3,5)

So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate; and she also gave some to her husband, and he ate. (Genesis 3,6)

This is the book of the generations of Adam. When God created man, he made him in the likeness of God. (Genesis 5,1)

Male and female he created them, and he blessed them and named them Man when they were created. (Genesis 5,2)

When Adam had lived a hundred and thirty years, he became the father of a son in his own likeness, after his image, and named him Seth. (Genesis 5,3)

When Seth had lived a hundred and five years, he became the father of Enosh. (Genesis 5,6)

When Enosh had lived ninety years, he became the father of Kenan. (Genesis 5,9)

When Kenan had lived seventy years, he became the father of Ma-hal'alel. (Genesis 5,12)
