And they told him, saying: Joseph thy son is living: and he is ruler in all the land of Egypt. Which when Jacob heard, he awaked as it were out of a deep sleep, yet did not believe them. (Genesis 45,26)

He heard him by a vision in the night calling him, and saying to him: Jacob, Jacob. And he answered him: Lo, here I am. (Genesis 46,2)

Gather yourselves together, and hear, O ye sons of Jacob, hearken to Israel your father: (Genesis 49,2)

Moses answered and said: They will not believe me, nor hear my voice, but they will say: The Lord hath not appeared to thee. (Exodus 4,1)

If they will not believe thee, saith he, nor hear the voice of the former sign, they will believe the word of the latter sign. (Exodus 4,8)

But if they will not even believe these two signs, nor hear thy voice: take of the river water, and pour it out upon the dry land, and whatsoever thou drawest out of the river shall be turned into blood. (Exodus 4,9)

The Lord being angry at Moses, said Aaron the Levite is thy brother, I know that he is eloquent: behold he cometh forth to meet thee, and seeing thee shall be glad at heart. (Exodus 4,14)
