And Cain went out from the face of the Lord, and dwelt as a fugitive on the earth, at the east side of Eden. (Genesis 4,16)

And he called his name Noe, saying: This same shall comfort us from the works and labours of our hands on the earth which the Lord hath cursed. (Genesis 5,29)

He said: I will destroy man, whom I have created, from the face of the earth, from man even to beasts, from the creeping thing even to the fowls of the air, for it repenteth me that I have made them. (Genesis 6,7)

For yet a while, and after seven days, I will rain upon the earth forty days and forty nights; and I will destroy every substance that I have made, from the face of the earth. (Genesis 7,4)

And the flood was forty days upon the earth, and the waters increased, and lifted up the ark on high from earth. (Genesis 7,17)
